Beki came up with the name ‘Vice Squad’ whilst still at school and drew it in a spiky logo on her exercise book.
‘I remember showing the logo to Dave Bateman, the original guitarist, and he got some badges made with it on and I felt that we were a serious band then because we had badges’.
For a while this was the logo the band used on gig posters, tickets, badges and the Resurrection EP sleeve.
‘Initially we were ‘The’ Vice Squad but after a while it became just ‘Vice Squad’. I liked the name because it had risque connotations but also the ‘squad’ bit reminded me of the little army of Punks I socialised with at the time. The rest of the band liked it too so it stuck’.
